the brief
This 2D title sequence introduces Mission Ranch's female-led ski film, No Bounds to Ride. The team of young women explore the mountains, navigating the sport and their relationships in the process. The opening animation is visually inspired by local mountain ranges and ski resorts, and utilizes the film's pastel color scheme to create a dreamy hand drawn treatment. No Bounds to Ride logo designed by Sloane Gordon.
the process
After creating a storyboard, the next step was to create blocking and establish scene timing by creating an animatic (right). Once the animatic is completed, more exact line work begins, followed by color and finally compositing to achieve the end look.
